SNOW & ICE ON SUNDAY MORNINGS

In inclement weather, a decision about holding worship on Sunday morning will be determined by 6:00 am. Decisions will be sent in a congregational email, posted on facebook, and listed here on our website by 7:00 am. Please check for updates. Thank you.

Winter Relief Is Around the Corner!

From February 11-18, 100 volunteers are neeeded to host 25 homeless men in our Fellowship Hall. Volunteer online. Scroll down and select the position(s) for which you are volunteering, then hit "submit" (at bottom). For assistance, email Bill Hatchl or Bonnie Hatchard (also in Fellowship Hall during coffee hour). We hope many will take advantage of this opportunity to help those in need during these bitter cold days and nights.

Annual Meeting & Dinner

All members are invited to our Annual Meeting and Dinner on Sunday, January 27, at 5:00 pm. The evening begins with a potluck dinner. Dinner is followed by our annual meeting at 6:00 pm, at which we will hear updates from several committees and confirm compensation for the pastors. Child care is available with advance request to Miss Good. No RSVP necessary. Join us for this annual event. Please bring a main or side dish to share.

Sunday Worship

Services are at 8:30 and 11:00 am in the sanctuary. Education Hour for all ages is at 9:30 and Coffee Hour at 10:30 am. For information about Sunday School for children and youth, contact Family Ministry Director, Miss Good. View the Family Ministry Calendar. For adults, there are three options. Through October 21, the Spiritual Growth Group will join Deb Mitchell's Adult Education in KC4a to read John Philip Newell's book in advance of his arrival October 26-28. Fellowship of the Bean is meeting in KC1a (while the ZW House is under renovation) and will return to the ZW House in the very near future. Stop by for donuts and coffee at 10:30 am each Sunday in Fellowship Hall.

Special Events 2019

Update on the Middle East - On Sunday, February 10 at 12:15 pm, Jean-Francois Seznec will present an update on current events in the Middle East.  Please join us in Fellowship Hall for this annual favorite event.  Light snacks will be served.

Excursion to U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum - On Saturday, March 2, you are invited to go to the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC with First Presbyterian Church.  We will learn extensively about the holocaust and also antisemitism in the world today and how we can confront this hatred.  We will have the opportunity to tour the museum before it opens to the public, and hear from a survivor. Plan to meet at the Harry Truman Park and Ride at 7:45 am (BYOB-Bring Your Own Breakfast).  A chartered bus will take us, returning to Annapolis by 1:00 pm. The cost is $25 per person. Register HERE.

"First 100 Years" by Will Mumford

Will Mumford’s book,

telling the story of our church’s
history, beginning with its founding in 1846,
is now available for
pre-purchase on the
church website
(under "Other Gifts").

Taize Worship

Join us the second Wednesday of the month for Taize worship, 7:30-8:30 pm. This service of prayer, scripture and chant is co-hosted with St. Mary's parish. Locations alternate between the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church and St. Mary's campus located on Bestgate Road at St. John Neumann Church. SCHEDULE.

2019 Summer Seminary Intern

First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis is seeking a summer seminary intern for 2019.  In addition to participation in weekly worship, the intern will support the congregation’s vacation bible school and work with a community-based, church sponsored children’s literacy program, Start The Adventure in Reading (STAIR) in a two week theater camp. See a complete description here.
