MUSIC

The Music Ministry of First Presbyterian Church offers persons of every age and ability a place to discover, nurture, and offer their musical gifts.

The Choral Music ministry at First Presbyterian has a strong, long standing tradition of offering some of the great choral works in the sacred church music canon. Every Lenten and Advent season the Chancel Choir offers such glorious works as Gabriel Faure's Requiem, John Rutter's Magnificat and Requiem, Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols, George Frideric Handel's Messiah, Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, to name a few. These are often accompanied by instrumental ensembles.

The Handbell Choir is an active participating member of the Handbell Musicians of America, and enjoys traveling to area conferences for classes and massed ringing events.

There is a music component to the children’s program, CROSSROADS which gathers with Miss Good (Director of Family Ministry) and Jill Woodward during the 11 am worship services (except for the 1st Sundays of the month).

For anthems produced during the COVID-19 pandemic please see below.
