We are looking for applicants who will enhance our progressive congregation’s vision and continue our vibrant music ministry. Consideration may be made for one person to fill both positions.
Director of Music
Anna: I have been playing cello for 6 years and have dealt with many conductors/teachers. I am a part of the First Presbyterian Church Youth.
Becky: Becky was born and raised at First Presbyterian Church. After being away for several years with her husband, who was in the Navy, they returned to Annapolis and FPC to raise their family. Becky has been involved in many aspects of the church, including working with the youth, ACT (an organization of churches and community groups working to improve the lives of community members), serving on the board of the Presbyterian Women of the Congregation, and many years of running the annual auction to benefit the youth program. Becky has had a lifelong love of music. Her daughters frequently play music in church and her oldest is currently studying to be a music teacher.
Bev: Member of FPC for 16 years. BME w/ voice and piano majors; MEd with 30 additional hours advanced study in Kodaly methodology. 35 years music educator, primarily high school choral director. Presently private piano instructor.
Dibby: Family has been members of FPC 28 years. Retired preschool teacher. Current Worship and Music elder.
Dick: a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy, retired from a career at an electric utility and has been a sailing instructor. He has been a member of FPC for about 20 years; active in the Mission Committee supporting Habitat for Humanity, Haiti Reforestation, and Refugee Resettlement. He enjoys strumming a guitar and playing along in an acoustic jam.
Lizzie: Member of FPC for 3 years. Navy spouse, stay-at-home parent of 3 school aged kids. Graduate of Hamilton College, sang in the Juilliard Choral Union for 3 years after undergrad, soprano soloist for a congregation in NY for 12 years. Currently serve on the Family Ministry Committee.
Marilyn: Member of the church choir for 11 years; graduate of Occidental College (BA, MA), University of Illinois (MM), University of Arizona (DMA Vocal Performance; teacher certification from Texas 1-6 Elementary, K-12 Vocal Music; 18 years teaching vocal music K-12 and college; 20+ years directing church choirs including children, youth, adult, and handbells; currently teaches private voice lessons.
Stacy: Over 30 years of experience working as a school psychologist practitioner, graduate university professor, public school mental health coordinator, and professional practice and policy director. She has been a member of First Presbyterian church for the last 16 years having served as a Sunday school teacher for 14 years and currently serves as a church Trustee. She is married and the mother of two college-aged students.
Ted: Thirty six years as electrical engineer and engineering manager at Westinghouse/ Northrop Grumman. Sixteen years as Assistant Dean in Engineering at UMBC. 23 years in choir at FPC. Chair of organ search committee in 1999. Chair of Trustees for three years.
Pastor Andy: Ordained in 2004 and has served churches in New York, New Jersey, and Indiana before accepting the call to serve First Presbyterian in Annapolis. He is a native of Pittsburgh and a cradle Presbyterian. Andy has degrees from Appalachian State University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He loves planning and leading worship, especially thinking about how the word read, proclaimed, sung, and enacted proclaims the good news of Jesus Christ. He also enjoys sports, naps, coffee, music, and good food.
Pastor Mihee: Has served as associate pastor at two churches (NJ, PA), campus minister (IN), and several temporary youth and education positions as well as pulpit supplies before coming to First Presbyterian Church - Annapolis. She was born in Seoul, South Korea but raised in Colorado Springs, CO, where she grew to love the outdoors. Mihee has degrees from the University of Colorado--Boulder, Princeton Theological Seminary, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Religious Studies at Indiana University. She has served the larger denomination (PC(USA)) as an elected commissioner member for the Synod of the Trinity (2008-2010), an elected member for the national board of the Presbyterian Mission Agency (2010-2016), and an executive committee member for the national board of the Presbyterian Mission Agency (2012-2016).
