Application for VBS Cuba

The tentative dates for the trip are July 22-July 29, 2020. This will include travel time to/from havana where the flights will be booked to/from. 

Trip Facts

  • Anticipated cost is $1,300 per person. This includes airfare, transportation, lodging, and food. 
  • You will be working alongside our Cuban partners running VBS - anticipated 90-100 participants.
  • High energy is required - must be able to participate daily.
  • A good deal of walking will be required.
  • It will be hot - must be aware of conditions in Cuba in July (it will be in the mid-upper 80s and extremely humid).
  • There will be showers, but no ability to use hairdryers, etc. Water is a scarce resource (water is delivered to the church every 4 days), so showers must be short.

Please be advised, your passport must be good for at least 6 months beyond the date of our departure. If the current expiration date is prior to mid-January 2021 (very cautious estimate), you will need to pursue an updated passport.

While in Cuba:

  • We will be walking extensively (possibly exclusively).
  • There will be very limited meal options (rice and beans, tomatoes, plaintains, ice cream, chicken). Our hosts will not be able to accommodate special dietary needs (i.e. gluten free, vegan, etc.)
  • You will be sleeping in dorm-style accommodations at the church with shared bathroom use.
