Confirmation is the process of learning about the Christian faith, what it means to be Presbyterian, and how to grow in a relationship with God. During the experience, students participate in service opportunities, build a relationship with an adult mentor, and create a faith statement. Confirmands join the church on Confirmation Sunday, when they are received as full members during the 11 o’clock worship service.
Confirmation meets during our Sunday morning education hour from 9:30-10:30am from January to May. This experience typically happens in ninth grade, but is open to all high school students (grades 9-12) who have not yet been confirmed.
The Confirmation Class begins with an fall orientation for parents, confirmands, and covenant partners. Confirmands are expected in worship that same morning at the 11 o’clock service where they are commissioned as part of worship.
