Worship Services...

Worship is an offering of praise to God and a gathering of God’s people within the wonder and mercy of God’s Spirit. “In worship the faithful offer themselves to God and are equipped for God’s service in the world.” The styles and forms of worship vary greatly in Protestant North America; worship at First Presbyterian Church tends to combine traditional forms with progressive theology. As with all Presbyterian churches, worship focuses on the reading and proclamation of scripture, the sharing of prayer and hymns and the regular celebration of the Sacraments.

From September through mid-May we offer two Sunday services at 8:30 and 11:00 am. The services are similar in the content of prayers, scriptures and sermons but differ in music; the Chancel Choir leads the music at the 11:00 a.m. service.

During both services of worship we provide child care for infants through toddlers and we offer a special program entitled “Godly Play” for children age 4 through 5th grade, following the Time with Children.
